And his name is perfectly fitting to the next commander-in-chief: Patton, named for the WWII general Trump admires.

Pope took a cell phone photo of Patton and showed it to Trump on Thanksgiving at his Palm Beach Mar-a-Lago estate, and she predicts that when he grows up the little fella is “gonna be yuge!” according to CBS News.

Trump declared Patton to be a “hero dog” to his wife Melania after he learned that Patton was the offspring of U.S. military service dogs.

This just keeps getting better and better.

“He is not a ‘hero dog,’ but he comes from a lineage of hero dogs, dogs who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan,” Pope told CBS News.

Then Trump asked Pope to show the photo to his 10-year-old son Barron — the final arbiter.

“I’m sure he’ll want it,” he told her.

Trump’s prediction was on the money.

“I’d never seen such a big smile on anyone’s face,” Pope recalled. “It’s worth all this time and the trouble and effort putting into this for [Barron].”

There’s a 150-year-old tradition of first families having a first dog. But Barron was the primary reason Pope was pushing the president-elect.

“He’s going to be a perfect dog for Barron. He’s the one that I’m really doing this for,” Pope said. “That’s going to be quite a transition for him. He’s only 10 years old and his dad is going to be the leader of the free world.”
